William Klun
Title
Bill is an energy finance specialist with over 15 years of experience in energy-related banking, financial advisory and financial risk management. He is an expert in energy finance, including “cutting edge” experience in renewable energy. He has worked with private equity firms and hedge funds identifying, evaluating and structuring energy-related investment opportunities and financings. He has evaluated, structured and closed transactions in alternative fuels, renewable energy and energy technology. Prior to this position, Bill was Vice President and Co-Head of DZ Bank’s energy corporate finance group, where he managed $3 billion+ in complex financings for the electric power, oil and gas and refining sectors. In addition, Mr. Klun was the senior bank representative in several high profile restructurings, including Enron, Williams Companies, PG&E NEG and Mirant. Prior to DZ Bank, Mr. Klun was a Principal with PA Consulting, and was a Director at Louis Dreyfus Corporation and the Duke Energy/Louis Dreyfus joint venture, where he structured derivative transactions and financial risk management strategies for the energy industry and corporate energy consumers. Bill has an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School, an MA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS Cum Laude from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He has contributed several articles to Institutional Investor on energy finance subjects and authored Market Risk in Electric Generation Finance in Energy Convergence: The Beginning of the Multi-Commodity Market, (Wiley Finance, pub.).
